| Lisa Crider
has a BS in Criminal Justice, a Minor in Spanish
and an MA in Elementary education from Wayne State.
She has been teaching for more than eight years.
She received her Montessori training from Midwest
Montessori Teacher Training Institute in Rochester
Michigan. Mrs. Crider has been with CMA and teaching Montessori for
over seven years. She previously taught at Grandport
Elementary in Ecorse. Why Montessori? She likes
the philosophy. Mrs. Crider enjoys spending time
with her family. Mrs. Crider's children attend
CMA. |
Sarah Bell has
been with CMA since 2006. Her educational background
consists of three years at Washtenaw Community
College studying photographic technology. Previously
she worked with Ann Arbor public schools. She
was also a nanny for two years. Why Montessori?
She loves the concept of learning by doing and
the hands-on approach. Also the fact that kids
learns from other kids. Some of her passions are
photography and gardening. She enjoys spending
time with her husband and three children. Mrs.
Bell's children attend CMA. |
| Daniel Parent has
been at CMA since 2001. His academic background
includes a Bachelor in Gerontology, a MA in Education,
a Teachers Certificate, a Four Year Nursing Home
Administration Certification, an Associate degree
in Criminal Justice, and his Montessori certificate
from the Michigan Montessori Teacher Education
Center. |
Dayna Cranford |
| Katie Scheerhorn
has been with CMA for five years. She received
a BA from Eastern Michigan University, and is
a Master's Candidate in Educational Media and
Technology at Eastern Michigan University. Ms.
Scheerhorn received her Montessori certification
in 2001 from the Michigan Montessori Teacher Education
Center. She has been a teacher for seven years.
Prior to joining CMA, she taught fourth grade
at Grand Port Elementary. She believes that a
Montessori education gives a child a strong sense
of responsibility through making their own learning
choices. |
Willa Crowe has
been a teaching assistant with CMA for over twenty-two
years. Mrs. Crowe was a baker before she joined
CMA. She has been married for forty-one years;
she has three daughters and four grandchildren. |
| Joanne L. Brashaw
joined CMA in 2001. She received her BA from the
University of Michigan, a MA from Marygrove College,
and her Montessori AMI certification from the
Michigan Montessori Teacher Education Center.
Ms. Brashaw previously taught sixth grade at St.
John Bosco andwas a tutor with Sylvan Learning
Center. She believes in Montessori's curriculum
for its structure, which connects subjects within
other programs, as well as promoting a student’s
independence through self-learner. |
Nathalie Jean |
| Kim Sapielak graduated from
the University of Michigan Dearborn in 2005 where
she received a bachelor degree in elementary education.
She has been a teacher since 2005. Mrs. Sapielak
completed her Montessori training in 2008 from
the North American Montessori Center. She has
been with CMA since 2004. Prior to CMA Mrs. Sapielak
worked for the Livonia Public Schools in various
settings. Why Montessori? She likes the fact that
the children work at their own pace and understandings.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with
her husband, two dogs and being outside. |

Heather Ellis has
been a teaching assistant for over ten years,
five years with 4th thru 6th grades and five years
with Art. She received her Montessori certification
in 2007 through NAMC. She has worked for CMA for
fourteen years. Mrs. Ellis has been with Creative
Montessori since she was 17 years old. Why Montessori?
Montessori is a wonderful philosophy. I believe
that if I were taught using the Montessori philosophy
my educational experience as a child would have
been easier. Overall I feel Montessori is a true
wonder. Where else can children work at their
own level? It is a wonderful teaching method.
Mrs. Ellis has three daughters, each of them have
or are attending CMA. She is very proud to say
her children have attended and continue to attend
CMA. |
| Linda Sams-Reed
has been with CMA since 2001. She has been a teacher
for thirty one years, twelve of which were in
Montessori schools. Linda's academic career includes
a Bachelor of Science, Elementary Education Post-Degree,
a Masters Level Candidate, and a Montessori certificate
from the Michigan Montessori Teacher Education
Center. Her experience includes teaching in the
Detroit Public Schools, Greater Grace Christian
Academy and Deror Montessori. Linda is also a
licensed Social Worker for the State of Michigan.
In addition, she worked with Catholic Social Services
and Lutheran Child and Family Services. Her belief
in Montessori is her philosophy for education:
"I enjoy watching young minds discover the
world for themselves as they research new information
and build their individual knowledge bases." |
Tracey Cunningham |
